I plan, design, and produce monthly newsletters for multiple brands, handling editorial direction, visual systems, stakeholder coordination, and production from start to finish.
Each newsletter involves more than layout. Here is the full scope of what I manage across every brand, every month.
Outlining each issue's structure, selecting content themes, and determining page flow based on available stories and announcements.
Gathering information from program managers, leadership, and staff. Following up on photos, event details, and approvals across teams.
Developing seasonal color palettes, accent choices, and visual motifs that keep each issue feeling fresh while staying on-brand.
Building modular Canva templates with consistent grids, WCAG-compliant color pairs, and reusable components that scale across brands.
Assembling final pages, reviewing for accuracy and accessibility, and delivering polished issues ready for distribution.
Every newsletter follows a repeatable production cycle. Here is how raw content becomes a polished, ready-to-send issue.
Collect stories, photos, event details, and announcements from program teams and leadership.
Choose the monthly theme, color palette, and page structure. Decide what leads and what supports.
Build the layout in Canva using modular templates. Place content, adjust imagery, and apply the seasonal palette.
Review for accuracy, check accessibility, finalize the design, and prepare for distribution.
Every issue gets a new seasonal palette and visual direction while staying within an established design system. The structure stays consistent while the look stays fresh.
Each month uses two WCAG-compliant base colors and one accent color. Palettes rotate seasonally to keep the design engaging without breaking brand recognition.
Templates are built with swappable components: hero blocks, photo grids, event panels, and footer sections that can be rearranged and restyled per issue.
Consistent gutters, standardized padding, and all interactive elements sized at 44x44px minimum for touch-friendly reading. Color contrast tested against WCAG standards.
Each newsletter brand has its own personality, from supportive and community-driven to playful and adventurous, expressed through typography, color, and layout choices.
Kindlight: warm, accessible design for a supported living services audience
Connections: energetic, playful design for a social recreation program
Two newsletter brands shown in detail. Both are prototypes of live publications with names, logos, and content anonymized to protect privacy.
A monthly newsletter for a Supported Living Services provider, designed for adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities and their support teams. I created the full template system from scratch and manage every issue, planning content, coordinating with staff, and producing the final design in Canva for distribution. In production since October 2023.
A monthly newsletter for a regional social recreation company, built for adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities and their support teams. I designed the full template from scratch and produce each issue, coordinating content, building seasonal layouts, and maintaining a consistent but evolving visual identity. In production since November 2024.
This work is ongoing. Every month, I produce multiple newsletter issues across distinct brands with different audiences, visual identities, and content needs.
